Four wooden bowls displaying green coffee beans, roasted beans, and freshly ground coffee

Our beans

Seven origins. One curated portfolio.

Our sourcing portfolio is small on purpose. Seven origins, picked for how they answer each roast. Varietal, process, and altitude listed honestly on every one.

Sourcing philosophy

Picked for the roast, not the catalog.

Our beans are sourced from all over the world, picked for their best representation of how they will react to each specific roast. Like many in the coffee community, we constantly fine-tune our roasts to reach the inspiration we have for each specific concept. Our goal is to keep sourcing new beans from different farmers to keep our portfolio growing.

How we roast

Temperature.Bean. Process.

Our goal is to take each bean to a different place via temperature, bean, and process. Our end game is to develop bold flavor in all roast levels and take you somewhere different with each cup.

That’s the work. We chase a target on every batch, taste at the cooling tray, log the curve, and adjust the next pull. Light or dark, single origin or blend, the rule is the same: the cup has to mean something.

If a bean is on this list, it is here because it gave us something we could not get anywhere else. If a roast is on the lineup, it has earned its spot through the same trial. The portfolio is curated, not catalogued.

Where Plaid is poured

Taste it at 222. The bakery Trevor also runs.

Every espresso, drip, and cold brew at 222 Artisan Bakery is poured from a Plaid roast. The bakery is the best place to taste a bean before you commit to a bag.
